I travel a lot and I often have the chance to walk around big cities, enjoying the architecture and street art. As the years go by, I noticed a quite common and worldwide reaction when it comes to construction sites or renovation works : people don’t like building machines. I have actually often heard things like : “it is a pitty the crane is in the middle of the picture ! “.
Is it a pitty? What is so odd and ugly about a crane, a backhoe loader, a drilling machine ?
I like metal and I appreciate the shape of heavy machines. To me, they are great pieces of engineering. Without those machines, our cities wouldn’t be as easy to live in and our quality of life in would be much lower. Most importantly, they are the sign that we are in constant evolution, showing that things are changing to offer something better.
I recently decided to propose a new perception of those heavy metal machines by taking pictures of them through my own eyes, making them as important as any piece of architecture in my life as a traveler.
